For hire: Sword fighters, highwaymen, pirates, jousters, princesses, executioners, side saddle ladies, men in shining armour, fallen women and so much more. History's Maid is a historical interpretation and research company with a passion for history and bringing it to life in a variety of creative, authentic and engaging ways through workshops and presentations designed for a variety of venues and audiences across the UK. The team is made of professional actors/interpreters, combat experts, horsemen and historians and we can turn our hand to anything from monologues to plays, from lectures to jousts. Company director Dr Kate Vigurs is an experienced and engaging historical interpreter with twelve years professional experience in research, live historical interpretation and re-enactment having worked for Royal Armouries, Imperial War Museum North and English Heritage to name but a few. She is a drama graduate and has a doctorate in Second World War history; making her uniquely skilled in bringing history to life. She is an acknowledged expert on the Special Operations Executive, however her knowledge extends to a wide range of historical periods from Roman Britain all the way to the cold war.
